In our Skerries studio every year we see more and more clients are including their beloved pets in their family portraits. Many clients choose to just have their pets photographed and don’t want to join them at all! Pet portraits have become so popular that once a year we ban pet-less humans from our studio and dedicate a whole weekend to the furriest members of the family for Yappy Hour! This year, however, we are donating all session fees from this year’s Yappy Hour! to Dog’s Trust.

As avid dog lovers ourselves (and proud owners of two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Charlie & Chloe) we wanted to give something back to the doggy community and help less fortunate pets find their happily ever after. The pets who come to our studio are cherished and adored, so much so that their families want to immortalise them in an heirloom portrait; but not all dogs have such happy lives and we really want to help change that by supporting this great charity.

Dog’s Trust’s mission is to ensure all dogs enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction. They work tirelessly rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming badly treated dogs as well as supporting microchipping drives and public education schemes, all to help dogs have a happier future in Ireland.

Yappy Hour! 2015 is taking place on the Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of September and is booking is necessary as it’s always a popular event! Your half hour pet portrait session can include the whole family and costs just a €25 session fee, every cent of which is going straight to Dog’s Trust. You then come back and view your portraits about ten days later and you only buy what you really love (and trust us, you’ll LOVE them all!) with no minimum purchase and special limited edition packages starting at just €99 for this event only. The event is not just for dogs, ALL pets are welcome! (Except tarantulas, we don’t feel we could do them justice while we’re screaming and standing on a chair!) You can even use our fab Christmas accessories and create gorgeous Christmas themed portraits of your pet in plenty of time to make gifts and cards; Imagine how cute it would be to send a Christmas card with your pet on it!
