DesignWorks Photography is delighted to be an official drop off point for The Christmas Shoebox Appeal for Team Hope. Over the last 18 years Team Hope has delivered over 3 million boxes to children in the poorest countries in Africa and Eastern Europe, giving a little bit of joy and hope into their difficult lives.
At the studio we are lucky to spend our days with children who are safe, fed, warm, happy (for the most part!) and who generally have the things they need in life whether it’s something as simple as a hairbrush or the latest toy for Christmas. It’s so easy to forget that not all children are this lucky but we want to do a small part so that together we can all help them.
Have fun with your kids while supporting a great cause this Halloween at Spooky Portraits Day in aid of the ISPCC. Spooky Portraits is an annual event that we look forward to every year with the added bonus of raising lots of money for charity!
Come to the DesignWorks Photography Studio on Church Street on Monday, Oct 31st 12pm – 4pm & receive a mini shoot & 7×5″ souvenir Halloween portrait for just a €10 donation, every penny of which goes to the Irish Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children!
You don’t need to book, just come along on the day.
Your photo can be of just one child or all the kids together! Even adults can take part! Additional photos can be ordered for another €10 donation to ISPCC per photo.
Call the studio on 01 8021100 with any questions.

A classic Roganstown wedding with vintage touches (and sparkles!)
It’s not often you meet with a potential couple and decide within about 90 seconds that, not only do you really want to photograph their wedding, but that you actually want to become best friends with the bride. Like proper BFFs, with friendship bracelets and everything. Like us girls here at DesignWorks Photography, Sharon loves all things pretty, glittery, and girly and shares our (ok….Brónagh’s!) taste in wine and champagne. See, great taste! In a brilliant move, she has also named her engagement ring ‘Sparkles’ and together we’ve decided that we’re getting pet unicorns and that glittery wallpaper is a completely legitimate interior design choice.
Given all that, you might be surprised at how gorgeously understated and elegant Sharon & Peter’s Ardgillan Castle and Roganstown wedding is, with touches of vintage chic and soft pink flowers that suit the fairytale castle backdrop perfectly. Sharon twirled and skipped her way through the day like the Disney princess that she is, but our favourite part of watching that might be also seeing the fond smiles and ‘yes dears’ from her adoring (but somewhat less glittery) new husband Peter. Their day was filled with laughter, joy and easy affection and it was a true pleasure to photograph a couple so obviously in love and meant to be together.
The antique carriages visiting Ardgillan Castle over the weekend suited the couple’s love of all things vintage and we just had to hop in one for a quick photo or two! Peter showed off his passion for vintage airplanes with his gorgeous cufflinks and Sharon glowed in a tea length and lace gown that was just made for her! After the ceremony we stopped off at Skerries institution Joe May’s pub for a quick pint before heading to beautiful Roganstown Hotel & Country club for the reception.
At one point during the day Sharon threw her arms around us and said ‘I’m so glad you’re our photographers!‘ Well Sharon and Peter, the feeling is entirely mutual! We wouldn’t have missed your gorgeous day for the world.
