Colette & Martin’s Colourful Ballymagarvey Wedding | Classic Summer wedding
Colourful Summer Ballymagarvey wedding
Colette & Martin’s gorgeous Ballymagarvey wedding was a true family affair – not least because we know half of the people at it! Both the groom’s and the bride’s sisters were schoolmates of Brónagh’s and the whole family made us feel so welcome it was like photographing old friends instead of going to work!
Colette is a true classic bride, stunning in a satin fishtail gown but added modern pops of bold colour throughout the day lest we forget that this stunning wedding was in high summer! The weather certainly helped as we enjoyed glorious sunshine all day, perfect for sipping prosecco and mojitos (her favourite drink!) in the rolling gardens and courtyards of Ballymagarvey Village, one our favourite wedding venues in Ireland. Martin’s three piece navy check suit was bang on trend and set off his coral boutoniérre perfectly. With a stop off to visit his glamorous granny on the way it was off to Ballymagarvey for a moving ceremony (yes, we cried! Damn Ed Sheeran and his perfect processional song about his childhood sweetheart!) and then a party and a half!
We just adored laid back Colette & Martin who were so warm and genuinely kind to us throughout the whole day, despite the challenging heat at times. It was obvious that they are not only in love but great friends too, laughing and teasing each other with practised ease, making them a perfect team! This super sweet couple have been together since they were teenagers, welcoming two gorgeous daughters along the way who stole the show as chief bridesmaid and flowergirl.
When it came time to leave we were sad to say goodbye but it turned out ok, because between the kind couple and the wonderful Ballymagarvey team they made sure we were spoiled with a constant stream of gorgeous food! It was several hours before we eventually left; almost too full to move but with happy hearts. xx
