Nicola & Brian’s glam Knightsbrook Hotel wedding

After several failed attempts at Skype calls we eventually got Nicola on the phone. Planning a wedding from the other side of the world came with it’s challenges, but Nicola & Brian handled it with grace and good humour. That phone call lasted almost an hour where we chatted about everything but the wedding (well we eventually mentioned the wedding!) and we felt like old friends. All the way from Perth, Australia they decided that we were the ones to capture their day. And what a day it was!

The couple’s chilled demeanour was evident throughout and set the tone for a totally enjoyable experience – we were welcomed with open arms at Nicola & Brian’s respective bedrooms of the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim – with a good natured roll of his eyes and little shock Brian even let Brónagh follow him to the bathroom while he shaved! This was typical of this sweet couple; nothing was too much trouble, we were made feel so welcome and the laid back vibe made meant everyone had a fantastic time from the offset.

Stunning Nicola looked like she stepped off the pages of a wedding magazine in her couture gown complete with applique bodice and long sleeves with a sensational slit to show off her gorgeous legs! You’d be right in thinking this dress was just made for her as it was, by the immensely talented Kevin at Galleria Couture in Perth. Not to be outdone, Brian looked every inch the leading man in his Tommy Hilfiger suit from Louise Copeland.

Despite their cool calm collectedness, their ceremony was emotionally charged with tears aplenty (and not just us this time!). Their deeply personal vows and their beautiful music moved the whole room.

Then the party began! Champagne, cocktails and nibbles were the order of the day before a gorgeous 4 course meal, then the party continued into the night where we waved them goodbye.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting Nicola & Brian and capturing their day for them – we’re only sorry that they’ve gone back to Perth already!
